For all those carrying a tinny when you travel on a campertrailer or on the roof where do you carry your fuel tanks?

I used to drain the actual outboard as it was carried in the vehicle and carried the fuel in a Rheem plastic petrol container. It was a little outboard with an integral tank though.
When we had a bigger outboard and a separate tank I just carried it in the back of the vehicle, the tank didn't leak or create fumes in the troopy and I just ran the outboard out of fuel before packing away. When carting the boat and stuff to the water from
camp I'd just stick it in the boat if trailering or on the roofrack under the boat it carrying it on top.
