Does anyone know of a software product that allows you to convert your GPS tracks (Magellan Meridian Platinum unit) into roads and highways to create basemaps and upload them to the GPS? My problem is that the internal basemap for the unit and the MapSend DB maps are woefully inadequate and I want to create and upload my own maps. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Mark

i think maybe you are looking for "Oziexplorer". Try typing that into your search engine.

Hi Mark,
As Ray said, try the Oziexplorer software.
It allows you to down load your track details from your GPS to the maps you have loaded in Oziexplorer.
You will be able to save the track details for later use and them load them back to your GPS.
Your GPS may have a limited memory to store track and waypoint details.
You can download a trail version of Oziexplorer so you can have a look at it

I am not aware of any product that will let you create (or correct) Magellan downloadable maps.

I wonder what you have loaded as the DiscoverAus maps are excellent.

You can of course connect to a PC or PocketPC and use scanned maps on the PC.
