Hi all,
Would like to know if anyone could suggest a good coastal camp ground.
Looking to go from central coast as far as Kempsey or maybe Coffs harbour.
Must be dog friendly and on or very close to the beach. We are currently considering delicate nobby just north of Point Plomer. We prefer to not camp in caravan parks.
Any reccomendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Chris.

Cobes,

We have camped at Wenonah Head just south of Urunga - quite a nice spot and there is a toilet (not flash) there. But because its free then you have to be prepared for crowding and possibly some rowdy elements. Its getting difficult to find free and/or dog friendly places along the NSW coast. Watch out for ticks too.

Cheers,

Val

As you probably already know, there aren't that many campgrounds from the CC to Coffs near the ocean, let alone dog friendly..

Delicate is the only one that I can think of.....

If you come up with any others that aren't Nat Park run, then let me know as well ( dog friendly or not )..I'll be going from the CC up that direction on the Aus day weekend....

Only one I can think of is Treachery at Seal Rocks....but don't know if its dog friendly though ??

I have never camped at a caravan park , nor have any interest in a caravan park ... hence the 4x4 .... hope this helps to make up your mind ..

Bonny Hills Caravan Park (you can see Port McQuaries glow at night to the north) is set high on the cliffs. Spectacular ocean views and sounds. Dog friendly. One of our special places.

Another goodie is South West Rocks CP exactly same comments as Bonny Hills but SWR as a small township has more to offer and a great great country club... don't let its name suggest hoyte toyte and I never tire of visiting SWR old convict jail a place later used as an internment camp in WWII

As he asked about campgrounds....not van parks, I think the choice is very limited..

Weeroona has couple of acres of large grassed powered/unpowered camping sites right next to the beach 100yds beyond the van park section with some bush in between. Also Dog friendly, worth checking out. Been going there for years. As for coastal campgrounds in that area of the country, particularly this time of year, forget it.
