Hi All, Happy New Year.
Somewhere on the
forum I read about a low
bridge to avoid when approaching the
Melbourne dock to load your car/ caravan onto the Spirit of Tasmania ferry. Could someone please let me know the name of the street this
bridge is in so I don't get caught and have to try and back out of it with the caravan. We're not from
Melbourne, so we would be relying on our Garmin GPS, which may decide to take us under this
bridge.
thanks
Graham and Michele

We stayed at what I believe to be the closest CP to the dock and our GPS had us going straight to the
bridge as the quickest way to get to the dock. Turned off the road and the GPS kept trying to get me back there.
Turned off the GPS and went south for a few blocks and then it (GPS) sorted out another way. Not nice for someone not into heavy traffic with a large van behind the Cruiser.
Next time in late Feb will put in 2 GPS points. 1, out of the way of the
bridge and 2, the dock.

Did your GPS tell you to "turn left and board ferry"? :-) We were a few hours early and I think ferry hadn't even arrived yet...
