I passed a Nissan Patrol today that had one of those back window mirrors which are used on many commercial vans. Unlike all the others I’ve seen, this one appeared to be secured by a suction cup on the window.

As I travel solo sometimes, it’s a pain lining up the trailer without directions from another person. I don’t want to go to expense of a camera and monitor, so I’ve been thinking about installing one of these mirrors.

Does anyone have any knowledge of these suction cap mirrors?

Regards

Kim

G'day there Kim. Don't know about the suction cap types, but I made a swing away one that I just swing out from inside the canopy and position over the tow hitch and can see from the drivers seat via rear vision mirror, and bingo, easy as mate, cost about $15......now SWMBO can powder her nose during the manouvre without all those stressful moments from years gone by LOL LOL.

I have seen in supercheep the a4 size clear plastic sheets with concentric grooves that "stick " on the back window .

Do they work

Just seenezihitch this but not so sure about the price. May suit though. Simple enough to set up just use a magnet to hold and position mirror to suit. I would be interested to know what you think.
