Hi all.

Going across to Tassie on the ferry most probably on 18 April 2010. As we're keen Fremantle Dockers fans it would be a good opportunity to see them play in Melbourne (for the only time in our lives) and we know they will be playing St Kilda and we've heard all the jokes about the Dockers (we are true Dockers followers -PROUD, PASSIONATE & LOYAL).

Is it feasible to leave the tug & van at the ferry, get to the game at Docklands, then back to the ferry in time to load? I think the game starts at 2.40 pm.

Any help or suggestions in this regard would be most appreciated.

Thanks

John & Helen

Dont like your chances. Nowhere to even park van down at station Pier. You would be cutting it very thin i would say, and probably worth just catching the ferry the next day.

From my experience I have to agree. With footie matches lasting anywhere up to 3 or more hours this could be a race against time to get your vehicle on board. I suggest that you might like to leave one person with the vehicle and then board on foot by yourselves.

Then again I've talked to people who simply drive up at the last possible minute to get their vehicle on board to avoid the long queue on the wharf.

Currently in Tasmania, caught the ferry over 12 days ago.....NO where to park the van. I got there half an hour before loading time and it was madness. As mentioned travel the day after or keep dreaming bout the game :)

Amen to that.
Went over just before Christmas and the Melbourne end was pandemonium.
The Tassie end is handled much more efficiently and courteously.
For me next time........Fly and hire a vehicle. Great place.
