Hi all, We will soon be departing for our first trip - around Aus in my parents 2nd hand Winnebago and was wondering if we could have some advice about where to get roadside assistance. We have insurance through the CMCA but am not sure if this covers things like running out of fuel, flat battery, flat tyre, broken windscreen etc...The Winnebago is a 2002 model. Does Winnebago offer this service for 2nd hand vehicles? Does the CMCA insurance cover it? Or should I just get it through NRMA?......We are not very 'handy' so if anything goes wrong it would be great to have someone to call.
Any advice is much appreciated.
Michelle

Step 1. Contact Winnebago and enquire.
Step 2. Contact CMCA (Ken Tame) Insurance and enquire.

Hi Michelle
I doubt you'd find any vehicle insurer that covers things like running out of fuel, flat battery, flat tyre etc in the one policy.
You would have to go to your state's motoring organisation for that. Even then distance from towns may dissuade you from using the service for something simple; check full details, which you should be able to do on line. Most motoring organisations have reciprocal agreements with those in other states.
Check the insurance policy covers windscreen and with what excess. Also ensure they know that it will have different drivers to the regular or nominated drivers.

I would never leave home on a big trip without the top roadside cover from your states automobile association (NRMA, RACV etc). The reasons for having it far outweigh the reasons for not!

We have Ultra Care from RACQ covers most things. Costs about $165 a year
However there are some limitations like how large a van etc you can get on a traydeck.
Also towing distance limits 50k either direction or 120 k to attending operators premises
Roadside care up to 120k so dont breakdown half way between
Broome and
Port Hedland Further benefits depending on circumstances.

Thanks everyone. I have discovered that roadside assitance packages are available through both Winnebago and through NRMA (up to 3.5 tonnes). I am wondering if any other Winnebago owners out there can help me decide which option to go for , if you have had any experience. many thanks.
