Hi all,
My van is a 2005 Kia Pregio 2.7L diesel with around 60,000 Km.
When cold the idle speed is low (500 rpm) when warm it is around 750 to 800 rpm.
Also when warn sometimes the idle speed drops very slowly down to +/-550 rpm.
I then put my foot gently on the accelerator and keep it in the same position, the engine runs a bit faster and then the rpm go up around 300 revs with the accelerator still in the same position.
Apart from that the van goes well and burns 8.7 L / 100 Km on long runs.
Does anyone have a solution for this annoying problem?

Does the vehicle have the air con on or climate control fitted.

This could explain why when cold, the air con is off and the rpm is low 500 RPM.

When it is warm the air con is on and the rpm is higher. The variation in rpm could be the air con cutting in and out.

Maybe a pump air leak or worn valve or even something as simple as a vacuum leak.
It's 5 years old maybe time to trade it in anyway if it's used for business.

Thanks, I will investigate.
Not about to trade it in, only 60,000 Km

Probably caused by the additives you put into the fuel tank and into your oil.

Thanks,
If you have not tried it yourself don't knock it, your way of thinking is most likely based on unsubstantiated rumors.
Many drivers come back for more.

No substantiated proof that the snake oil you sell works either ,,just for once be truthfull and admit that the Only reason you put up the query about your vehicles problem was to push your snake oil product back into the forum ..
