HiLux 4 me
Can anyone tell me if the Primus 2 way fridge freezers uses a danfoss compressor? If not what type of compressor do they use?
And if anyone has an answer to my first question, could you please give me some idea of how much current they draw, etc.
This is the only thing that concerns me with these fridges as they are built tough as with an aluminium inside and stainless steel case.

No other information? Fridge size? Year? Where have you looked?
Have you checked the
Primus Australia Web Site ?
This the unit?
I did and
Primus PDF is for the 40 ltr and it reveals all.

HiLux 4 me this is the information that i was told current draw is based on 12v +3 for internal temp outside temp 32 average power use app/ah 1.55 . compressor is polar inside cab is alum/ as stated but seams are sealed with silastic and not very
well done in my opinion .it has 4 sensor,s 1 base 1 sides 1 in each end .it freezers very
well no troubles as yet.
the .actual draw could not tell the battery was not up to scratch
ps the fridge starts freeze ing from the top down my frost line from hot is appro/ 200 mil down and slow to get further hope this helps yes i would buy it
again .cheers

Does the compressor create a lot of noise when in use? Have you had any problems with yours so far?

After looking at the Primus website it uses a Polar® Hermetic DC operation. Is this a Danfoss compressor or another brand?

HiLux 4 me this is the brand of compressor Polar® Hermetic DC it is made in china from all reports reliable . yes it very quiet only here the air circulating fan. no troubles so far. i met a fellow who was field testing them for Customs after seeing his report convinced me to buy.cheers

Thanks for that, Primus looks like the fridge I am going to go for. If it is like any other Primus product it will do a bloody good job and last a long time.
