The new one is Diesel only and I believe is a Triton underneath. My Dad is on his second both have been V6 petrol and he is happy with his. Hard to get accessories for as not many are sold.

It looks like a Triton front end too - not just underneath! (not a good thing IMHO - I think they're ugly, but that's personal). Availability of accessories will be better if the chassis etc. is same as from the Triton.

It's based on the Triton mechanicals and front end. The rear end is coils. The rear half of the chassis different to the triton.
If the 2.5 litre motor lives up to it's promise of being better than the current 3.2 in the previous model triton it should be a good unit.

escapesilv,
go to www2.pajeroclub.com.au/forum/ you will find all the answers you are looking for. I could tell you more, however, I do not get
mine until the end of next week!! I traded my old Challenger in. All I will say is that you do not find to many "unhappy" Challenger owners.
Good luck.

Pity its a bit over priced...Triton dual cab drive away $41990.....Challenger $48-49000 driveaway....
A touch small for long legged blokes in the front and the auto loses some torque over the manual, but overall a pretty decent package...

I have just clocked up 1500km's in my 2010 Challenger, and I only picked it up on Monday. It is a dream to drive, is good on fuel - averaged around 11l/100km and I think it will get better as the motor runs in - and the back seats are as comfortable as the front. The only draw back I have found is that the speedo reads out by about 10%, but I have now worked out where I need to sit the needle so will learn to live with one draw back.

No problems Robert, I took the demo on two
test drives before deciding to buy - once on a nice sunny day and again on a wet and miserable day.
In regards to the speedo problem, I brought it up with the service centre staff and they will look at it when I put the car in next week for the first free service. I was advised that in accordance with the Australian Design Rules that speedo's are allowed to be out by 10% plus 4. They had not heard of the issue when I raised it, but we did buy the first one in this area.
As a
point of interest a friend bought a Holden Colorado and his speedo is out 8%.
Enjoy the
test drive.

The problem with all new vehicles is....what are they going to be worth in 12 months..second hand that is. For $48k they is a lot of good second hand 4WD's out they and honestly I do not think it would go any where more then my MU, which is probably only worth $8k. Sorry just think buying a new vehicle is the best way of throwing good money away.
Just put he full face helmet on so you can all start throwing rocks LOL

Hi
The new Challenger seems to be an attractive vehicle as it is a real 4wd with low range, reasonable ground clearance etc. Fuel economy, tried and tested mechanicals and a strong dealer network should help its appeal.
I wonder how a second battery will fit in the engine bay?? I reckon a 2nd battery is a top priority after market addition especially for an automatic diesel.
Cheers
Phil
