Watch out for the kamikaze Britz 4B's down there. Nearly got run off the road by a couple of them few weeks ago..

First part of the drive from the North is good high speed gravel but conditions change when you cross the Lindsay River. Take it easy and enjoy the scenery.

If you want to take the ferry across the Pieman River, it is limited in size if you have a caravan. OK for small caravans and camper trailers.

Pieman Ferry (Barge) length restriction is 9 metres from front wheel of car to back wheel of caravan.

Obviously you can have the tail hanging out but it is a good idea to have the wheels on the ferry!

On the run I spent a lot ofmy life in Corrina and it is only what you make of it there is power fresh water, good fishing and the trip down the pieman River to the heads is unforgetable. 30 years ago my uncle ran the cottages there and they owned the saw mill and if you have ever panned for gold the eight mile creek is the place to do it. I think it is about 4klms out of Corrina heading towards the township of Savage River on the left are two of the deepest crators known to man and if still there at the mouth of the Donaldson river where it meets the Pieman River is a boat full of Blackwood logs it struck the bottom on way out and sunk but due to the silt build up from the Savage River Mine it was unable to be recovered. The eals in the river are very sweet and if you are lucky to catch a sea running rainbow trout you will be back. The walks to the Huon Pine plantations in the reserve are unbeleavable so go for it we will be there in December regards Alan.

We were there 12 months ago and were very pleasantly surprised by the new tavern and cabin accommodation there. The meals were also very reasonably priced and BIG. There is limited space for vans/trailers so we had lunch and went further on. I would recommend the phone call to the tavern as the river trip is worth while.

cheers
