Speaking of Tassie, does any one know if you can hire small offroad caravans in Tassie. We hope to travel there in our own vehicle but can't justify buying a van just for that trip. Don't want to take our tent. Any info here will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

maybe hire on the mainland and take it over on the ferry?
Don't know of van hire, but motorhomes galore for hire

Thanks for that. We really want to take our 4by. That is an idea worth consisdering, hiring it here. I only know that you can hire them in Qld. That's a very long way to go to tassie and back. I'll have to do some more research into hiring vans in Vic as
well.

I think it is about $1500 return for a car and van on the ferry,depending on time of year.
Would think about hiring a 4wd camper van when you got there, either flying or ferry.

Hi Ken, Thanks for your reply. We definitely want to take our own 4wd. We know it's very expensive on the ferry. That's why we wondered about hiring a van over there.
This trip is only in the thinking process at present, we have to save for it. We both have bad health so it is going to be our last big trip and it may have to be done sooner than we plan. So thought I'd just inquire now so that I had some idea.
