G'day all, I finnalt got my new boots after about a month, they ran out and had to wait till the factory made new ones.
Now to break them in, any ideas or hints.

Not much ya can do but wear them really. Walk around the house with them on, maybe leave them out in the sun to soften up, mould into your foot better then.

Very comfy work shoes the steel blues.

Won't leaving them in the sun harden the leather, or you mean just enough to warm them up?

Yeah just enough to warm them up. I find when i leave my newish boots in the sun, my foot moulds into them quicker. Or at least it feels more comfortable anyway. Probably just imagining things as usual though.

Hii
put them on and go stand in a creek till they are totally soaked then wear them till they dry. when dry hit them with some dubbin then leave them in the sun so the dubbin soaks into the leather

Hi Damien,

I fill them full of water then wear them till they are dry. It works but can be hard on your feet.

Cheers Wilko

Hmmm, my Steel Blue's required no 'breaking in'. Comfortable as, from day one ;-))

G'day mb I have worn them all day today and I have been standing and walking around for most of the day and I find my soles of my feet are sore. The tightness around the ankles have eased but I'm worried about the soles. I may have funny feet but I find I need to buy larger sizes, I am supposed to be 8EE in size. The one I tried on before I odered them seemed at the time the right size to buy, I tried steel caps but did not want them. I have tried the suggestions from the group how to break them in !! and I hope the sore soles will pass.

What model? I've got the "Wagga" in a non steel cap. Most comfortable boot I've ever owned.

Mr B, I have the Wagga non steel. Last night I was on my feet for over 3 hours giving a living skills program and found my feet very very sore on the sole of my feet. I have always worn boots so it is not a question of not being used to boot type. I have tried various methods suggested by the group and the fit is now good but for the aching soles.

That's curious as I find the soles are SO soft and comfy.. 2.5 hr walk around Dove Lake a couple of weeks ago with no issues whatsoever.
