I'm a bit slow in bringing this up, but it's still eating at me. Not far from me about a week ago some bloke got hit on the head by a falling tree. His wife found him down the paddock, about 150 metres from the house. This is the bit that annoys me. The semi-pet kangaroo was standing beside him [as it does]. It had been scratching at the door of the house a while before [as it does]. The wife felt that it had attracted her attention and lead her down the paddock. Yeah right!
Why do people constantly try to make animals have people thought and intentions? I think it's called "anthropomorphism". These yarns encourage animal rights groups and townies to imagine that animals have human feelings and thoughts and then protest unecessarily about things like live sheep exports and battery hens.
Having said that though.... I don't much like battery hens and if slaughtering sheep here could replace live exports, I would prefer that.
I DO like and care for animals.... BUT... I don't believe animals have the same thought process or relation to the world as humans do [some humans are limited to!].
I just marked the lambs. Oooooh! I would hate that done to me! But a lamb after a bit of a lie down, gets up, runs after mum and has a drink. A while later there isn't any
sign of discomfort.

Hiya guys...firstly how does Truckster know what camels urine tastes like!!..secondly Glayva is not just a Whisky, it's a Liqueur whisky, and is much better than drambuie and the only other drink near it is Lochanora...trust me I know..I've sampled them all.....and more...hahah

Must be time for a little bit of science b/s-it,, ice = frozen water, ok we all know that,but did you know that companies involved with making/selling and promoting spirits spend BIG dollars on research,,their findings in recent years show that a spirit poured and cosumed "on ice" increases said spirits potency and flavour,,Diagio the company that now controls brands such as johnny walker,bundy rum,mcallums .guinness ,ect,ect promo a system called a "perfect pour",, simply fill the required size glass with ice,pour in the spirit and "top" with the mixer of choice,,,,,leaving out the ice or not filling the glass with ice results in a less than "perfect pour" due to the dillution of the spirit by the over abundance of mixer,,,, so endeth the lesson on ICE.

another lesson on ice as seen on A curent affairs program said ice is used to fill the glass therefore less cola ect ice is cheaper than cola. ice also causes bourbon ect to splash out of glass and therefore you wont get as drunk so you buy more @ $4356287687 a glass in a night clubjamieson wild cat

You're right Royce. The loonies love that sort of story, the roo was probably only waiting by his body for a hand out!
I must admit though I'm not a great fan of the live sheep exports when they can be rejected by the importers on what seem to be pathetic reasons.
I bet most livestock in their own countries are in a darn sight worse condition.
They used to slaughter sheep for export at Wooroloo WA about 25 years ago and had a couple of arabs doing the throat slitting. They must have had the bluntest knives around and didn't pay much attention to the teachings of the Koran when there was no one to keep their eyes on them!
Of course, the gossip about their lives outside the abbottoir may have just been malicious.
I don't like to see cruelty to any animal or bird, but I reckon shooting is the least cruel, as at least the animal (if it's done properly) doesn't know it's going to get killed, but then that's impratical for the amount of beasts we need to eat.
No doubt that would upset the rabid animal rights friends of the furred and feathered but I doubt if there's too many of them reading this

as an example I once had a dog that I use to take to the park and we would sit on a bench and enjoy a friendly game of chess…naturally we use to get a few "strange looks"....well one day a bloke came by and was absolutely astounded of how intelligent the dog was & he was making this huge fuss over him …so eventually I had to put him straight, I said “he’s not that bloody smart, we’ve play three games today and the bloody dog’s only won one!"
