I heard about this product yesterday, it is suppose to be good for insects.
Natures Botanical
Rosemary & Cedarwood oils in a Natural Creme
Does anyone know where I can purchase some in
Melbourne please.
We will be travelling to NT later in the year has anyone got any good ideas for repellents for all kinds of insects.
Thanks Julie

As it seems to upset some of the more sensitive souls here, I won't say "make Google your friend"
I just Googled it for you & it appears Saddleworld & other horse type outlets sell it, in creme, roll on & spray.

I just followed one of the links out of curiosity, it isn't exactly cheap, $34.95 for 500ml.
Also I see it is 'cream', not creme as I put earlier.

You can also buy it in a large spray bottle. It really does work, as far as keeping flies off. Smells nice too.

You can't go past Bushmans, works on sandflies which is the real
test.

I reckon I've tried them all. For mozzies and sandflies there is only one clear winner....Bushmans. Daylight second........and third. Any South Australians here that have ever fished around the mangroves of Torrens Island will know just how big and mean the mozzies are there.....Bushmans keeps them at bay.
Where I work the flies are real bad from about October to April every year. I tried all the different repellents without success, and then I read on this
forum about the Nature's Botanical Rosemary & Cedarwood oil, so I bought some.
Does it work?....
well it is more effective than the others....but only just:-(
It does reduce the number of flies that land on your face, most buzz around just millimetres from your face without landing. This is all good and
well for about 5 minutes, until they get used to the stink, and then they are all over you again.
Did I mention the smell?. This stuff pongs bad. The stink is almost worse than the flies themselves. It smells like a mix of Camphor and Vicks Vapor Rub :-(
If you really want to keep the flies off your face, the only surefire method is to cut the backside out of your jeans.
Cheers
Glenn

Maybe a post on some of the old fashioned
recipes, that you can feel safe with.
We had a mixture of equal parts of Detol, Metho, and Baby Oil .. it works, but it's yuk
