I dropped into see my very good machanic today and told him how it has used a bowl of coolant since it's last service which was just recently,i explained to him how it's running a little bit like a chaff cutter, like it's out of tune when it's cold and then it's fine once it warms up ,then he explains to me what happens ,i have him coming around Monday morning to see first hand what it's doing ,So you reckon i'm abit peed of would be an under statement,i'm just about at whits end.cheer's GREENDOG

Greendog if it has done the head gasket and you are going to repair it make sure the water pump and thermostat are replaced, recommended to me by a ex Mitsubishi mechanic and mate, had no problems from then on with my now sold NH, hope it works out, Rhys.

Hope it isn't the bad news your predicting.

Is the oil milky when you pull the filler cap off or dip stick out?

Cheers Luke

Feel your pain. My NL 3.5 died earlier this year and required the full rebuild, $4500 drive in drive out. How many Kms does yours have? anything over 200,000 and I would consider doing a full house job on the motor. Say its $1500-$2000 to do head gasket, then while its apart you might consider if timing belt is due or not ect ect ect.

need any questions answered about it let me know, spent some $$$$ and got some grey hairs over my motor
