There is about 10 sprinter Ambulances for auction tomorrow at Fowles in Melbourne. Any one wanting one of the best touring/camping vehicles ever made will be able to pick one up for about $12k to $15k Eric.

Cheap to buy... expensive to fix and a night mare to work on.

I can vouch for the reliability. I used to work in the courier industry, and an 02 Sprinter got up to 1,200,000 kms on the clock, before he traded it in. He was doing line haul between towns doing about 700kms a day.

Kiwi was at the auctions Nov last year and the ones that I saw were around 200-220 thousand klm.
Went between 9000-12000 bucks.
Bushy.

It seems they sell them off around 220K no matter the age....models range from 2002 to 2005:http://www.manheimfowles.com.au/find_buy/catalogues/catalogue/?sale_id=100032

Can anyone expalin to me why this post is allowed when yesterdays post about the Queanbeyan 4x4 show was deleted as it was deemed to be advertising for the show promoters (which in effect is a charity apparently). Using the same logic (illogic ?) to me this post just seems like advertising for Manheim Fowles auctions.
Both posts in my view should be allowed as they convey relevant information which may be of use to members. But it appears inconsistent to allow this post and delete the 4x4 post of yesterday. Or have I missed something.
Neither post was mine nor am I associated with either. But it beggars belief to understand the moderation system used here in terms of consistency.
Cheers

If you feel it necessary to moderate this posting, push the button and let the modsquad decide. ;) I'm not saying that it shouldn't be deleted, rather it is far better to let TPTB decide and move on.

I'm with you Wamuranman, I have asked the same question to the Moderator regarding the removal of the Queanbeyan 4wd show thread and not the new Nissan Patrol release thread ....now we have the promotion of an Auto Auction business...I have no problem with any of those threads or the people who posted them, but I do ask why only one was deemed advertising....which happened to be a 4wd public event.

What about post 75716 - what has that post got to do with 4WDing, camping etc. As you say the moderation on here is rather haphazard.

To Andrew (QLD) - ( not Andrew L)
Your advice would be sound if my intention was to have this post deleted. But that is not my intent. It is to try and understand the thinking of the moderators - why they deemed one to be advertising and the other not (this one).
As stated above there is a whole Post about Nissan - clearly indirect advertising as well.
I think the moderators have got this one wrong - they should have allowed the Queanbeyan 4x4 post to remain. They could of course admit they got it wrong and re-instate it but I doubt it.
Cheers

I am sorry if this post upsets some , it was posted as advice to members and not an ad as I have nothing to gain from the sale,.
I have 4 of these Ambulances and find them to be excellent vehicles and just want others to share the pleasure of owning something so good. That said you do find that each one was sold for a reason, so you do need some skill to sort them out but parts are cheaper than most Japanese vehicles, once fixed they will go for another 200K's. An example the one I got last week has a noisy pinion bearing. Not all sold so there will be more next wheek. Eric
