I have 10inch drum fitted to an 22' off road with cruisemaster leaf suspension,I ordered 12inch but advised by the manufacturer that Cruisemaster recommended 10inch and was more than adequate for this type of set-up.

I am still not sure on their reasoning.

Is there anyone out there that have 10inch brakes fitted to their 3000kg offroader and are happy with them?

Hi All Clear,

The drum size depends on the wheel diameter as to whether or not the 12 inch drums will fit inside the wheel rim. Also the overall diameter of the tyre and the braking torque needed to pull up. We have 4 x10 drums with 16" wheels on a 2600kg van and if so desired we can skid the tyres. A good brake controller is a must and I can recommend the Tokonsha Prodergy.

Cheers

Thanks Racey

I have 245/70/16 fitted ,I can also lock brakes but I was considering fade braking ability when travelling at 90-100 range.

Brake controller is a HR Guardian, set at 2.5.

Cheers
