By crikey, we live in an interesting space.
The corner county of SA/Qld/NT must be about look good following what has been described as the best rains in a decade at Moomba.
Here is a snippet of theBoM observations for the 7 days to 9.00 am Thursday Feb 4th 2010:
Thargomindah 85 mm
Eromanga 93
Orientos 118
Quilpie 98
Bedourie 17
Birdsville 27
and in SA (very few observations are taken in this gi-normous area)
Moomba 91mm
Arkaroola 81
Marree 39
So, has any one access to pictures or first hand reports of these environments?
Do you have a prediction for when we can travel and see green/flowers/happy days for the graziers?
Cheers

I'd give it a couple of weeks for the reveg and about 6 weeks for the
water to hit the rivers in SA. The
Birdsville track was already green as and the dunes were already covered like rolling green hills. Still mad mobs of
water birds I'd love to send a photo but I am not a member yet. I still don't think the Lake is on this year.

Hey brother, g'day yourself.
Well I looked out the window and the mist was rising, the cows were still chewing their cud, the lorikeets waiting for their seed, the galahs fighting with the pigeons and the pale headeded just sitting quietly waiting for the others to get out of the way - the kingie is last of all in the way of things, the lowest form of life on the bird ladder.
Then, for the first time in days I saw the top of the mountain - suddenly it was covered in cloud again but the sun began to shine through the tree tops. Oh how magical - the roses have beautiful dew drops on them (another photo opportunity) and suddenly the birds all arrive at the same time and theirs is a strident symphony. Ahhhh, time for a cup of tea.
Sorry brother, I think you wanted me to look out the other window but I can't............ but I promise to look out the window the third week of March on my way up the Track from fishing in SA. That be ok?

Thanks for a spirited reply! Good to see all that soft living hasn't addled your brain.
All the best.............and wasn't this thread inundated with responses!! My fault - I didn't use the word fridge or tyres.
