We have a Sphere LCD TV supplied by Jayco in our new caravan & I want to connect a HDD/DVD Recorder with in-built Digital Set Top Box to the TV. The problem is the only available connections are "Audio In", "DVI In" and "D-Sub In". They all look like connections you would use when connecting the TV/Monitor to a computer. There are no connections in the TV for S-Video or the Video/Audio trio etc. The DVD player supplied by Jayco is connected via the "Multi Connector" socket (which goes into DVD player through the wall).
Consequently I have no idea how to connect up the DVD Recorder!!
Hoping someone can help :)

Leanne,
I'm not sure I follow you.
Currently there is a DVD player connected to a "Multi Connector" socket. Or does the TV connect to the multi connector which then goes through the wall? What connector on the TV is the DVD player currently connected to?
What type of connectors does the HDD/DVD player that you want to connect have?
Will you be replacing the currebt DVD player completely or do you want both to be connected?
Sorry, a lot of questions but can't help without a bit more info.

Leanna,
Or the simple answer might just be to get a HDD/DVD player with HDMI output (most would have this now) and get a HDMI to DVI adapter like this

The sound would also need to be connected as normal.

Did you get them both off Jayco If so a phone call may fix it for you.
The manuals usually have pics with alternative connection setups

Hello Leanne,
All of the connections you require are in the sphere multi core cable that runs to your built in DVD player but you may find some of the cables missing at the DVD end. When I brought our Jayco and added a satellite disc, its decoder had to be connected to the Sphere TV. The multi core cable from the TV to the DVD location (the position I needed to place the decoder) was joined in the wall of the caravan. Some of the multi cores wires weren’t connected and extended through to the DVD location. I attempted to pull this cable out to add more connections but it was wedged in the wall. I then had to purchase a new Sphere TV multicore cable from our Jayco agent and run this between the TV and the DVD/Satellite Decoder position to get all of the connections I needed.

Thanks for all the replies.
I ended up buying a DVI/HDMI cord & another audio cord to connect the HDD/DVD Recorder to the TV (I cannot access the multi connector as the cords are in the wall). This worked for a while then first the picture stopped working but we still had sound and then the sound stopped as
well!! Now the TV will only stay on AV1 so we rang Jayco & they said they would replace it on Monday (the TV is brand new - we haven't even been on a trip yet!).
Thanks again for the advice.
Leanne
