Hi there

In the prep and planning stages of a trip to Innamincka and Birdsville, from Sydney via B'Hill,Tibooburra and CC.

Just wondering on the fuel options available between Birdsville and Noccundra, via the Birdsville Dev road and the road south that runs parallel to the SA/QLD border.

We'd be after ULP and possibly Diesel.

Looks like one option would be duck into Innamincka before the turn left to Noccundra.

Thanks in advance for your feedback.

Hi, I assume you mean Birdsville - Betoota then south down the Arrabury road into Innamincka, if this is correct - there is no fuel between Birdsville and
Innamincka and yes, your only option is to duck into Innamincka before your left turn to Noccundra.
Have a good time - it is a great trip. Lots to see and do.

Assumption is correct.

I thought that might be the case.

Based on the distances, we will have to pull into Innanmincka before Noccundra to fill up - doubt we'll make it all the way.

Thanks.

Prepare for a shock at Innamincka - $1.79 ULP vs $1.43 b'ville - dunno how that worked out!

Just because there are oil well around Innaminka it does not mean there is refined spirit available on site. The nearest oil refinery to there is at Eromanga and that is where the cheap fuel is.

Fuel at Eromanga is 24hr at the refinery (BP if I remember right). Quite cheap compared too - don't have figures right at hand - and very fresh & good quality. That's our prefered fuel stop whenever possible when heading from southern QLD to Strzelecki area.
