A word of advice
When the races are over and they are on their way home many drive like possessed morons. Like two wheels on the tar and two on the stones at well over 100kph.
I had a penetrated windscreen and a smashed headlight last year. I and few others with similar damage pulled into a rest stop and camped over to let em pass through.

Stan
I found the same races or not.
I thought i wasn't slow. but as you say possessed morons is pretty close.
I only ever made one mistake
and that's when I thought I was wrong!

The cops set up booze buses in the middle of nowhere and catch a lot of drunks so be careful.Good camp spots along the river but u have to get there a few days before the races start other wise u will miss out.

Looks like we may be headed there again this year, the plans are in the pipelline anyway.

Try to get a camp at Clayton's Bore.

D, finally we will meet up - we'll be there about 3 weeks before (camping). To everyone else don't forget Betoota Races are going to be on the week BEFORE Birdsville this year - it does clash (sort of) with the races in Innamincka (different type of racing).
