Linking Laverton in WA to Winton in QLD, the Outback Way was coined to promote the development of a 'third strategic link' across Australia,

How is the Outback Way ? Has anyone travelled across it recently.

Are you looking at both the Western and Eastern parts? If you do a site search for Great Central Road, you will get a number of recent threads on the Western part of the Outback Highway. The Eastern side incorporates the Plenty and Donague Highway. Check if there has been anything recent on the Plenty - I can't recall any.
