Many many months ago i watched a travel show on the box of a fella driving around fraser island. It was ok but didnt give any inspiration to go there.
However his trip up the canning stock route yesterday was fantastic. The family now want to go there. Heaps of criticism in an earlier post and yes there were plenty of adds, but hey its gotta be better than watching tennis.

I too watched the show, he was all over the place jumping from north to south and back again. No context to the journey.
Next was the advertorial about towing school - question - 'what is the most common problem for learner towers?' - answer leaving your wiring connector cable under the towbar where it can be ripped out off road. Next cut back to Canning and view under camper trailer with - you guessed, his wires strung beautifully low under the tow coupling.

But he is better than when he was with that other magazine mob..

Program is filmed on a budget and edited when back at home, not easy to maintain content when you can't just pop back and do a bit more filming.

The Leyland's edited on the move towards the end and that was a vast improvement.

It is tolerable, especially when there is no other 4WD show out there.

That's about 2 cents worth

I watched one episode....

When I'm all old & wrinkly (not long to go now;-)), I'll be able to tell my great-grand-kids that I watched one episode.....

I'd rather watch the grass grow (YMMV)

I know it's easy to be critical but the ads were really OTT. The content of the programme is easily 50% promo/advertising and then you have the ads on top of that. I think it's Pat's big intro to TV stardom. I'm no big cheese but most of the stuff he did was very basic and not much better than the magazine dvds if at all. The only thing we were spared was Roothy's cooking segments. Aaaaaaaaaaaagh. Think I'd rather starve but Roothy does some decent repair segments.

I seem to recall that the last time I saw that name mentioned here, the term "galoot" was used..........

I have nothing further to add (except to say that I'd rather watch paint dry)

Bring Back Russell Coight!
I sent one final shout after him to stick to the track, to which he replied “All right,” That was the last ever seen of Gibson - E Giles 23 April 1874
