G'day. I just bought some radiator and heater hoses for a 78 series hzj 4.2L cruiser. I was given a hose which is called 'heater hose outlet No.1'. Can anyone please tell me where this hose is located? Also, is there any other hoses I should stock up on for a big trip.
The other hoses I have bought are:
*The two radiator hoses
*Heater outlet hose
*Heater hose to tap
Is there such a thing as a bypass hose on a landcruiser?

Thanks for you help.

I think there are three heater hoses - two of which are called bypass hoses. The following diagram might help:

I take radiator hoses and for the heater hoses I just carry a foot of hose thats the right size for vechicle heater hose, some hose clamps and teflon tape and a couple of bolts that can fit into the hose. Just saves a little space. I also carry a coulpe of feet of fuel hose with 4 clamps and 2 couplings.

You can buy the whole set of heater and radiator hoses from Terrain Tamer for not a lot of money.
Which means you are carrying the complete set for all occasions.

Cheers

The heater hose outlet number 1 is the steel pipe that runs down the RH side of the engine from the front of the head.
if the ends are not corroded ,its probably good.

I think they are called bypass hoses because they still work when the thermostat is closed to get the heater working ;)
