For those who attended the St George National EO Gathering will recall that St George was quickly running out of water.

With all the rain lately there has been a large amount of water flowing and the flood peaked yesterday at around 7m downstream of the Jack Taylor weir. Below is the latest photos taken in the last couple of days

My sister or BIL took them. The ones midstream are from the SES Flood boat as they were doing some training in them while the opportunity was there.

I'll get them to get some photos of the off stream storage for me to post on here as well.

No photos sent through as yet.
They recieved another 13mm of rain yesterday (Sunday) so the road out to the off stream storage is too wet to drive on (thanks to the black soil).
Will post the photos when I get them :)

Great photos Kev, and good to see all that water.
It looks like there might be even some more rain around the place too.

You might get some relief from the dust storms for a while.
It won't take too long for some ground cover to pop up.

Hi Sir Kev,

Its great to see, We've had good rains in the last week and more over night. I think the Darling will be solid for the next month or so.

I hope some of it makes it to the SA border ; )

Cheers Wilko

Hi Wilko,
They are releasing around 10000ml per day from the Minidee lakes, and they are still rising. Have close to 500000ml in storage now.
See you got some good rain as well. 91mm at the Parkes airport.
Cheers Pete

I thought they werent going to fill Meninde at all as there wasnt enough water to fill Menindee AND Cawndilla? Did fill top lakes though didnt it?
Next flow may help though
The stuff they are letting go is to go to SA lower lakes, but wont make that bigger impact though.

Have a look at the waterinfo site then go to daily river reports. Then click on the darling and at the bottom is the reports on the menidee lakes.
Top three lakes are full and looks as though Copi hollow is rising although they do not give a report on it just the height.
Cheers Pete

The Maranoa is still rising at Old Cashmere.

Bungil Creek has just risen again at Roma.

The Balonne/Condamine has just started to fall at Surat but will rise again when the water from Bungil creek hits as well as the water from Yuelba and Miles.

I wish the water we got in the weir at Chinchilla last weekend was allowed to remain but DERM has decreed that it has to be released as environmental flows??
They don't realise that a few km downstream of the weir is Charley's creek that has had 5+m of water flowing into the Condamine River since around christmas :)

Do you know if Cubbie Station is lifting any water? Or perhaps they can't get any $$$ to do it.

Cubbie is NOT pumping but with the current height of the water will be harvesting water through their floodplain catchment area. From what I have heard they have a skeleton crew on staff and having some water will create some more interest to potential buyers :)

Warrie,

That site is good but I find that this one BOM River and rainfall data gives a better indication as the river level changes along the whole system rather than just a few spots as shown in your link.
Yours does show the amount of water, though it would be interesting to see how they gauge the quantity as there would be alot of variables (i.e water speed and depth).

Cheers Kev

Another 46mm of rain has fallen in the last 24 hours at Weribone (just south of Surat) so a bit more water to add again :))
