Any advice on Pilliga camp grounds

Hi folks,

We are planning a 2-night camping trip to the Pilliga area, so I'm interested to hear people's thoughts on the various camping spots - Schwagers Bore, Aloes etc.

Damn that's a spooky yarn,If Adrian has white skinny legs he's probably rethinking his camping plans about now.I have been through there plenty of times but never stopped, after hearing that yarn i will always make sure i have plenty of fuel before leaving Narrabri.that's for sure.You sure know how to warm a bloke to a spot don't you Townsville.cheers.

Hi Ade and Liz

There's a big reserve on the Namoi River on the road between Pilliga and Burren Junction - lots of places to put up a tent and the camper - no facilities whatsoever. Just don't camp there if it looks like rain - black soil tracks and a mushy gravel road back into either town. The bore baths at Burren are very popular with campers but can get very crowded.

MM me if you want to - I live in Tamworth and work out that way fairly regularly

your right about the bore baths being a popular spot, but I'm not sure if they are open at the moment, they were closed a while back when i passed there, and i went past there last Thursday and there wasn't a soul there.so if Ade and Liz or anyone else is keen on going there just give the Junction city hotel in Burren Junction a ring to find out if it is open.Cheers,enjoy your trip the country is nice and green out that way now.
