Greetings all , I am looking at fitting a teconsha prodigy to our prado 120 , wondering if anyone has tried to fit one in the ashtray void? ( we havn't got the unit yet ) if not where is another spot thats not too intrusive, thanks.
I am a bit worried that it will be a bit chunky on the LHS of the steering wheel (under dash )

A Tekonsha P3 will fit in the ashtray void in a 120 Prado. This is where
mine is fitted. The other Tekonsha models are too large.
There is a number of P3 installations in ashtrays shown on
Pradopoint

Hi Peter , Did you remove the top section in the recess? , it seemed to me that it will fit if that comes out, it certainly moves but I couldn't work out how to get it out?

Rap sticky back foam around it and then put it into the ashtray hole, this is how we do them all.
Don't use double sided sticky backed foam.

I hear Redarc have a unit with a remote adjustment unit that fits anywhere with the remote mounted in the dash in a convenient spot.
Might be worth a look.

I have checked it out but not sure about a solid state unit , I like the science of the inertia system better , great idea though

The Teconsha Prodigy is a lot more advanced and smarter controller then the RedArc.
We sell red Arc products and they manufacture some of the best battery managerment and voltage gear in the market but we will always push the customer to the Prodigy or P3 over the RedArc brake controller unless space is an issue.
The Prodigy and P3 uses smarter electronics to measure deacceleration making it work more efficient and giving better more progressive brake control.
