Hi. I am in NSW but my brother lived in
Dampier for 36years till 2009. Both he and my nephew used to do all their diving out off the islands west of
Dampier. They had "shacks" out there for overnight/s stays but there was also good
anchorage as
well. If you need more detailed info pm me. There are still a few of his mates living in the town we can contact. Bob.

What sort of boat is it?? Are you looking at spearing / freediving / SCUBA / just looking?
Are you planning on staying on the boat or swaging it on one of the islands? Have you checked out the tides for when you will be there?
If you let me know the answers to the above I will have some
places for you..

Thanks Drew,
Scuba and UW-Camera. We have bottles as
well as a Hookah
We have a 21" cabin cruiser with 70cm draft when leg is up.
We would stay on the boat overnight for some trips
but also intend to stay on the beach with the camper
when there is a chance on other occasions when we leave the
boat in
Dampier.
Thanks

There is nice coral on the north side of Malus, and the north side of Rosemary. Some good deep diving around Bare
rock. If you have access to a smaller boat there is some great camping and shallow diving around Collier Rocks (up the end of Flying Foam Passage) - you have to watch the tides there as you can easily get stuck for 5 or 6 hours - I have.....(many times..). If the weather is good - a trip over to Delambre is
well worth it - good
anchorage to sleep on the boat or shore and the diving is amazing
Have fun

Drew,
thanks for the info. I have ordered the paper charts from the area (boat
shop did not have stock). If anything else pops into your mind, the more ideas the better :)) ..
thanks, help is appreciated
