Hi all, travelling to Trunkey Creek (Central Tablelands - NSW) from
Wollongong via
Goulburn this Thurs arvo. Looking for any recommendations on
nice camp spots for an overnighter between
Goulburn and
Tuena
cheers Aaron

The
Tuena Pub is a great place to have a quiet little drink, however we used to
camp a few km's after
Tuena towards
Bathurst on the Abercrombie River at the stock resting grounds.
Have camped there many times, but have not been there for a few years so can't speak on what it is like now.

There is a
dam between
Goulburn and
Crookwell (Pejar?) but it has been dry as a chip for a few years. Not sure what it's like now...
May be worth a look.
There's another
dam off Arnolds Rd just outside of
Crookwell but I can't remember the name.

Sorry both are water supplies, and council takes a dim view of camping their, but I use to
camp at Pejar heaps in the late eighties when it was a great trout fishery.
People doing the wrong thing as usual brought a clamp down.
The Abercrombie River between
Tuena and Trunkey is a nice
camp spot.
Grove creek falls are not far a away as are the Abercrombie caves which also have camping.
Cheers Pete

The Abercrombe Caves reserve
camping area is really nice but ifyou want to
free camp use the
camp site on the river a few Km's past
Tuena
