With all the recent rainfall we've been having, will the
Condamine Gorge (as per the Dirty Weekends book) be impassable or too dangerous at present. I have a few cars going this Sunday for a day out and want to know whether to cancel or not. We have only 1 soft-roader, a RAV4. Thanks in advance :)

When we were last there a RAV 4 would get through, but I'm not sure how much rain they've had.
You might like to speak to the Cambanoora tour people, they do the tours through the area.
I can recommend the drive up Queen Mary falls for somnething different.
Regards
Geoff

G'day,
I was up there a couple of weeks ago after decent rain and it was fine, plenty of smaller vehicles going through. They are getting some big rain tonight in SE QLD (100-200mm predicted) so it may pay to phone the police at
Boonah; if its too full then they close it to all traffic.
The country out there is looking good at the minute. If you have time do the run via white swamp back to Maroon
Dam after you have done
the gorge.
Cheers
Evan

I'll second the run out through White Swamp Rd..... beautiful! Also stop at Carrs
Lookout and if you have time, do the Queen Mary Falls AND the
Browns Falls walks.
Well worth it!
Cheers
Brian

Thanks for your comments. I spoke to the
Warwick Visitor Info Centre and will speek with them on Friday for an update. It sounds like it could get pretty muddy/slippery after a large downfall, but the creeks should'nt be a problem. Will wait and see until Friday and I'll take a look at White Swamp Rd. Cheers, Andrew.
