What apps are Iphone owners downloading and using?
What are your opinions of them?
Yeah, I know Whirlpool has a few Threads on the topic but I'm interested in what EO people are using.
Mine are:
PAID:
Pocket Weather.
Just fantastic. $2.49 a month and worth it.
FREE:
Alarm Clock.
Looks good. Haven't used it yet. I'm retired who needs ana larm clock?
Unit Converter:
psi to kpa, that sort of thing. Handy but has ads. I'll probably delete it.

Gidday Gone bush
We’re going one step further and are seeking to develop our own Apps. The first is business training (in partnership with TAFE) and the second is to promote tourism in our area.
In answer to your question I’m going to down load Australian weather (can’t remember the name of it).
I also would be interested to hear what others have to say.
Regards
Kim

The Google App seems really good, just tell the phone/app what you want by voice and it searches.
I think its a feebee also?
I don't as yet have an IPhone but what I am seeing by those that do is its brilliant and it will no doubt be my next phone when the current one runs out of contract.
The apps have been a great new revenue source for the phone companies also.

iPhone = Apple
Supporting a store that arbitrarily destroys developers income streams by changing app catergories or simply deleting apps they don't like...
No thanks.

i bought my wife the samsung version of it and she finds it good. still have not worked out what 1/2 of them do yet but we will get there. my SIL has the iphone but i think the samsungs video and photo clarity kills the iphone and it costs a hell of a lot less.

Pocket weather is a good one for travellers and those interested in weather. Just a bit simpler and easier than trying to navigate the bom site on the phone.

Give "Ozweather" a go I thinkit is better than Pocket weather.
"Factbook" is great for facts about the world.
"Trail" has trails you have walked or you can import tracks from other
places
"Convert units" is great for converting from imperial and metric
"ifitness" tracks workouts and track progress
"gopedometer" formeasuring how far youhavewalked when hiking
"Foxtel Guide' for Austar television details
Banking programs depending upon which bank you are with

No time wasted getting this one on the market:
Iphone App: Tiger Text
If you send your mistress a text message using Tiger Text it will automatically be removed from her phone after a set period of time so that she cannot use it against you when the missuss shows up and
ruins things.

Thread re-instated by the Moderators. Thank you.
Maniney, the apps can be removed by touching them until they "shiver" then touch the red cross in the corner.
What I don't know yet, is how you stop payments coming out of your credit card for ones you've paid for and removed.
Anyone help with that?

GB,
Have tried that today and yes the icons do "shiver" but there is no cross, of any colour, there.
The new apps I've added all have black circles with a white cross, but I need them, things like '4 day weather forcast' and 'boating conditions forcast' are very useful and I rely on them to know what the ocean conditions will be like during the week as too many tourists here on weekends.

Have just tried that and there is a black and white cross on the corner and if you tap that it will delete it.
Did for me anyway

Yes and as far as I know the installed ones cant be removed.
You can however shift them to the page to the right and not see them
You just drag them over when they are vvviiibbbrraaattiinng.
