The time has come for me to purchase a new set of tyres for my baby (4). Any suggestions on brand/type to get please. Guess I am looking at 8 ply minimum.

I never have much luck with the search function on this site. It throws up too many off topic subjects.

Tyre selection really is a personal thing, but best suggestion is to have the same as you have on the tow vehicle so that they are interchangeable.

Would have to be the natural thing to do, other wise it wouldn't work, would it!!

That's right my prado wheels won't fit on the van so that won't work for me.

Whatever you get make sure they are LT tyres Ply is a rating and an 8 ply may not actually have 8 plys but be called 8ply rated

DONT BUY DUNLOP Had two hardly used ones throw treads and on a Roadstar as well.

Bridgestone Bison seem to be rated high enough and are not badly priced

Look in the handbook as it gives you the correct size and ratings in there

My Voyager 4000 had 185 x14 LT speed rated at 120k If I remember correctly

http://www.bridgestone.com.au/tyres/treads/b607bison.aspx

Weight limit 850kg x 4 = more than enough on a tandem

I am biased here but go for the R633 over the Bison if 185R14C
If 195R14C go for R623 Bridgestone.
I am a BSC dealer.
