Morning all,
I was just after a quick update of the track from Ballandean to the Severn River in the Sundown National Park.

Any other info on the park would be appreciated such as can you have fires etc.

Cheers

Steve

Thanks guys,
Yep checked both of those pages and I will call QLD NP before we go. Just looking for any inside info. Looks like a great spot and I can't wait to get back in the bush after 4 months in Antarctica.

We will be travelling up on the New England and I am also looking for a bush camp along the way to break the trip.

Cheers and thanks for the links.

Hi Steve, have done Sundown a couple of times, the latest 9 months ago, it is one rough track, allow plenty of time - our first trip there was very memorable - attempting to tow a camper trailer out after a light shower of rain - it was hairy! Recommended for higher clearance 4WD only. It is isolated and quiet - not sure about fires at the moment. I honestly prefer to camp at Giraween National Park - just down the road from Ballandean - great facilities and walks but a bit busier now days. What ever you do have lunch at Ballandean Estate winery on the way in to Sundown on the Ballandean Road - traditional Italian food and great wines - be warned you may not get much further!

Thanks for the info. We are staying at Ballandean for a friends birthday. I wanted to have a look around so we are going to look at Sundown and around Manns River on the way back. I have just spent 4 months in Antarctica so isolated and quiet fits the bill for me.

Cheers
