Optima redtop battery

Went for a bit of a run today to Cathu state forest and Midge point in the Troopy, came back and fuelled with no problems, pulled up 10 metres from home to open the gate and (I can't swear on this site) old girl won't start.

Engine sorta turning over ok , but not as good as normal. Checked the red top and it is not well, more swear words as I think it is only 3 yrs old. Dragged the old yellow top Optima out of the shed (9.5 yrs old) and stick it in, away she goes.

Now I am peeved. (for me this is a nice word) must be only 3 yrs old and at $300 plus it should last longer. Looked up the invoice and it said 3rd month 2004. (still can't swear)

I have yellow top in parallel, but with the problem on start with the red top it just dragged it down.

Looks like corrugation's destroyed it, but that's what they are supposed to handle. Both the yellow tops have over the years.

Have a good one and if you can't make sure someone pays.

Rockape, I had trouble with a yellow top Optima they ended up replacing it under warranty thank god.

Since I have replaced both battery's with a Red top and a Yellow top it's been perfect, touch wood. About 18 months ago.

6 years is not too bad though is it.

Cheers Scoot.
