I am looking for a HF antenna bracket to mount on the spare wheel bracket of a '96 120 series Prado GXL 4.0ltr petrol. I am not happy with the auto tune mounted on the bull bar... trees always want to jump out and bite it... lol..
If anyone has pics and or knows part numbers for one I'd be really gratefull. A couple of suppliers tell me they can get them, but cannot show me one or a
pic of one. I would like to see what's out there before I commit the $200 they (the suppliers) say they are worth.... lol... (: They have them for the earlier and later Prado, but they don't fit due to the different stud configuration.
Appreciate and help.
regards

Hi Fred. The stud pattern is the same on all model Prados and is also the same as 80 series cruisers so not sure what they mean there. Bob.

hi Boobook
a bit off topic, but the lock nuts shown on the bracket are the same ones i use for my
driving lights, no more stolen lightforce. cheers bill.

G'day fred B, I made up a plate which bolts onto spare rear wheel bracket with a right angle coming out near tyre. (take off spare wheel & have a look at your bracket) Sorry, no good at posting photos. I just painted it black. In Victoria you are only allowed 30mm obscurred vision on the front of vehicle anymore and you get yellow canary from the fun police!! So anyone with HF aerial on front of vehicle (apart from broomstick) is or could be in trouble!!

Sorry Bob, but that is incorrect... some models have 5 stud rims fitted, others 6 stud.
After being told by many people + TJM + ARB + others ... including the bird that works at KAYMAR and does the orders for ARB and others... that they do NOT have a bracket to suit the 2006 Prado with alloy wheels...
well they were all wrong..... This is what I purchased....

This is a standard KAYMAR fitting (part KO470023 for Hi-lift jack) to fit 6 stud Prado '97 - '02 and the 75 - 77 Series troopy. The insert for the HF antenna is K5050.
Even after I fitted it, KAYMAR are still saying it won't fit, so ARB are going to send them the photos.
The ones that Doug from Lakecomm are advertising, are the ones he especially commissioned from kaymar for him (2 years ago), and they fit onto the standard door bracket and behind the spare wheel. You still have to remove the antenna to get to the spare wheel.
So hope this clears up a few things for people (including KAYMAR) ... lol (:
