My Redarc battery isolator recently started to play up. It would switch in, but often would not switch out unless I gave it a tap. Since we travel full time and have two 40 litre Engels in the vehicle, a quick solution was needed. We are currently in Alice Springs.

I bought the isolator in August 2008to set up the new 79 Series, but did not have the receipt. Redarc have a two year warranty. I rang Redarc and was passed to Mark in their 'technical area'. He quickly agreed to replace the isolator. He gave me the address and phone number of their local reseller. I went straight around and Mark had already rung them - they had the new one sitting at the front desk waiting.

I went back to the caravan park and swapped the old for the new and took the old one back to the shop as requested for forwarding back to Redarc. All works fine now.

From my initial phone call to full fix took less than 90 minutes and absolutely no dramas.

That's good enough service to tell others about in my book. Thanks Redarc.

Norm from time to time most manufactured things have a couple things go wrong everyone accepts that, but it is how you fix the stuff ups that makes it a good or bad experience.

Glad to hear redarc did the right thing, thanks for letting us all know it's worth recommending the product when you know people will be looked after once they have your hard ernt dollars.

I have a redarc thats about 8 yrs old and this type of service is why. When I had a problem they were onto it like a flash, gave me three possible fixes and no1 worked.

Incidentally, No 1 was - Check your multimeter is reading accurately because we are sure it switches in at xxvolts....Exit one multimeter, buy a new one! Nothing wrong with the unit at all but what great service!

I also agree with Redarc being a great product. Had the battery isolater fitted about 5 years ago and have had no problems with it. had a redarc electric brake controller fitted Tuesday and I hope I get the same reliability from the controller as well.

Gerday Norm,

Good to hear about the feed back about Redarc, we are thinking about stocking them at the moment.

Hope your current trip is going well, the roads out this way are pretty chopped up at the moment & there is still water on the road out front, otherwise I'd suggest that you come out for a visit!

G'Day Jeff, our original plan was to come up the Oodnadatta, but weather and road conditions dictated otherwise. We came up the bitumen (though we did go around the Mereenie Loop and a few other dirt roads in the centre. Plenty of water around and lots of roads closed and damaged. I've never seen the centre so green. A rename to the 'Green Centre' would be appropriate at the moment.

Perhaps we'll visit you another time.

Damn, just bought one too.

I like the look of the 3 stage 12V to 12 V charger, but the impulse to buy was suppressed by the near $300 price tag.
