Hello all
I wanted to drive from Flinders Ranges to Cameron Corner over the Easter break but it appears the Merty Merty CC road is closed. Anyone in the know about how long it's closed for or any work arounds ( other than through Broken Hill)?

The causeway over the Strzelecki at MM is the problem and there's more water to come down from Innamincka. It could be under for two months. Give the store at CC a call to get an update... W

How long is piece of string, like all road conditions in the outback around this time of year, you never know what is going on until a few days before or on the day.

Best thing is keep an eye on the Dept. of Transport web site.

Road conditions can even change whilst your travelling on them.

Anyone's guess as to how long it'll all be shut out that way.

As PP said before, give the corner store a ring - 08 8091 3872.

The road north out of Broken Hill appears to be currently open, ditto Tibooburra - CC. Though all that was shut a little while ago.

Otherwise keep an eye out on the road reports section of this site, and
the RTA, and SA transport sites.

The causeway at Merty Merty may be the problem initially but the road to CC is also a problem

Water lies in the swales between the dunes and it sits there for months. We travelled out there at Easter 2000 and spent more time driving around the pooled water than we did on the road and that was 2 months after the rains.
