I have a new MN Triton dual cab which came with 17" rims. I need to fit AT tyres for a
Kimberley trip. Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be much of a choice in AT tyres for the rim size. Suggestions have been to replace rims with 16' and get BFG tyres or get
Dunlop Grandtrek for which there is the correct tyre size. i've heard a lot of positives re the BFG's but nothing on the Dunlops. The rim option will be $600 extra. Any advice?
Thanks
Matt

What sizes are you looking at with both the 17" and 16" tyres??
May help with some of the replies.
Cheers Kev

Check if 16" rims fit.
Just reading on the new triton
forum that 16" may clash with the brake calipers.
Which model and rim size do you have?
265/65 or 265/70 seem common in 17"?

Thanks
John.I 'll have a look at the triton
forum myself. Just joined today and didn't realise a Triton
forum existed. The tyre shops I've spoken to were concerned the 265 was too large and have recommended either 245/70 or 255/70 as the overall size would be within the legal limit for roadworthiness. But these don't come on the 17" rim therefore the need for 16'' rims. The other option was for the Dunlops on the original rims.
