Hi folks,

Does anyone have the lat and long of the location of Wally's grave?

All I know is that he is burried at a Mistake Creek. There are however many Mistake Creeks in WA, even in the Kimberley

I would very much appreciate the info.

cheers

Phil

G'day Phil,
According to the 'Canning Stockroute Travellers Guide' P171, He died in his swag from a bout of influenza on 5th June 1959 at Mistake Ck in the Northern Territory.
S17 06 36.2 E129 02 43.2 is the position from EO and it looks in the correct area (ck).
As you can see it is a fairly long ck but he is probably buried near a track, maybe someone can narrow it from there.
You made me look up my book:-))

Cheers,
Bill

Thanks Bill,

Yep it is a long creek - the exact location seems to have stumped everyone - I am hoping to visit the site later this year.

I'll keep hunting down the exact coords.
all the best
Phil
