Hi all
For those that like watching documentaries about Lake Eyre, there is one on tonight, ABC 1 at 10.05 pm. From reports on the radio this morning, it should be a great watch.

Cheers

Hi Peter
It is about the chap that spends about 10 days out on the Lake every year, and has done so for the last 15 years. He has to haul everything out by bike. It sounds like a hard slipper slog for about the first 3 kilometres until he reaches the hard salt crust. He then head out for about 25 kilometres and sets up his camp, and proceed to take many and varied photos of the lake.

Cheers

Hi Toonfish
Yes, when they showed those shots at the end, they can only be described as unreal. As for that mud, I bet he is still trying to clean his bike, and how was the last bit with all that water around his tent.

Cheers

Hi TonBon
If you did not see it, it is well worth watching it. The perfect pictures that he was after are shown at the end and were stunning.

Hi Bucky
To be out there for 10 days at a time shows that he is very dedicated. I personally could not stand that glue type mud as he makes his way out to the hard surface of the lake. That last night when he had the rain and all that water around his tent - I bet his bike rusted away before he got home.

Those final pictures were stunning and that's what makes him go back year after year.

Cheers

stunning photos and I loved the time lapse sequences.

The logistics of shooting with an 8" x 10" view camera out there would be just horrendous !

I think I would be renting a quad bike or 6 wheel Argo and having a base camp on the lake shores.
