hi, our GQ 4.2 petrol/gas patrol's oil pressure gauge seems to be reading low but are unsure of where they are suppose to sit, so if some one out there has one where does yours sit at idle and around 2000 rpm. please don't answer in kpa as that's too hard just where abouts on the gauge, thanks from chris.

The oil pressure gauge on the GQ at best indicates that you have oil pressure.

As long as it is consistent on your car you should be OK. If you get a significant variation from the norm, wither up or down, it is time to look for a problem.

Otherwise the GQ will plod along for years.Mine was a diesel but I had a neighbor and a mate with petrol versions and they were all the same.

Hi my petrol/gas GQ on either fuel by the gauge on the dash when cold reads just below 4 and around 1.5/2.5 after warming up and driving around about 1 at idle using 20w50 Castrol GTX2 in mackay use the right oil to suit the climate your in helps.Just for the hell of it my diesel is always around 3/4 on the gauge using Penrite 20w60 hope this helps if you don't have oil leaks & have a reading on the gauge keep on trucking I reckon
