LC 80 Series turbo wiring. +ive or -ive switching

If its the same as a 100 its positive.

Neg switching went out years ago in Nissan 180B and stuff like that I think

Sometimes you can buy a loom with lights and just plug and play

I think its illegal to have them on without mains being on high beam.

Dave, my 1991 hzj75 is negative switched if you mean that the switches for lights etc make/break the negative side of the circuit rather than the positive. I managed to get a wiring diagram in fact a complete workshop manual down loaded but being at work I don't have the details with me, others may be of help with that.

take 2.5 m of 3mm twin from inside vehicle to the headlight connect the two end inside the vehicle to the two terminals on the switch.
mount your relay on the firewall guard .
create a loop where the relay and 3mm twincan be joined split the sleeving off the twin.cut the red wire and crimp cut ends. one of these ends goes to either 85 or 86 on the relay(switching) . connect the other ends of the 3mm twin to the the vertical terminals of the headlight wiring connector connect your spot light to 87 of the relay.connect battery power to 30 on the relay with a fuse (30amp) or if confused ring 0418945847

I've always used the horizontal (middle) spade on the 3 prong headlight connector to energise the relay (#85). I run #86 to the dash switch and then earth, so it too is negatively switched!
