What is the situation with fuel up to
york. In particular diesel. Do i need to carry any or are the enough fuel stops on the way

There is fuel every few hundred km on the PDR plus fuel at
Weipa and Lockart River. The only thing you won't get is LPG.

Hi Keerymac,
As already said diesel is available all the way up the Cape no more than 200kms apart at the most.
Yes campfires are allowed at most campsites, however you are not allowed to collect the wood within the confines of the National Parks. We used to stop outside the Parks and load up the roof rack with enough to cover our stay.
