gday all

slow night on the forum so i thought i'de post some pics of the awning i bought for the side of the Navara.since putting it on the top we use it everywhere we go 4wding or to stop for a bite to eat where there is no shade.even camping it comes in handy for extra shade and is very quick to pull out ( it is a retractable one) and the poles are intergrated into the design.no need to carry the poles in side the car :-)Image Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be FoundImage Could Not Be Found
the other good thing is that the awning was made in Brisbane.

it would be interesting to see other types of awnings out there so post some pics of yours if you have one, cheers.

Mark, I bought a cheaper unit made in South Africa, manual roll up.. intergrated posts, I just made a set of custom roof bars and 3 brackets bolt on the ends of the bars, that hold the awning . The idea was to have 3 low height bars on all the time and when i want the awning, one person can hold it up and put in the centre bolt.. Bars also suit my new roof top tent, all up the 3 bars weigh 15 kgs but really strong.. also added shovel clamps.. It is all at the powder coaters till Thursday, so i will post some pics next week. G'day Mark,
The awning looks pretty smick, does it have a brand on it or the name of the company that makes it. I'll checkout ebay and see if I can find them, I have been looking at the Ironman awning locally for similar money.
Cheers.

Thanks Mark,
I like the idea of the retractable awning, my only worry is down the track, will they be like those old blinds we had on the windows, that gave up the ghost and no longer rolled back in.let's hope not.
Cheers
