Hi I am setting up my van for solar, do I need a big battery if I am running solar. I am only looking to power lights and maybe a small tv.

You need a battery that has double the amount of aHs that your Lights and TV take out and that is as a minimum requirment ..
Most people would put in an 85aH upto 105aH AGM to cover that sort of equipment with a small solar panel to re-charge the battery during the next day
2 X 50 watt Solar Kit would be adequate for your setup .
