Whether its the 140 kW or the older 153 kW quad cam Paj, it is likely to have less power and torque than the Falcon. If its a big van I'd be looking at one of the big 4WDs. If not, the Paj will manage as well as anything else. The pluses for the Paj are comfort, reliability and handling. I found the 153 kW Paj to be capable tow vehicle, although I never towed a van. The original 3.0 L was too gutless to consider in this role.Bob

I have just returned from a round Australia trip with my 1991, 3.0l manual Pajero, covered 24k. The Pajero has 230ks on the clock now and performed fautlessly. It averaged 5ks to the Litre at legal road speed. I set a personal speed limit of 100 ks/h. 88ks/h was the most eccomocial but found 95 - 100 easier. As for power, I have had many vehicles in front of my old van over the years and find the Pajero a very honest, comfortable vehicle with unrestricted vission, Great brakes, good chassis dimamics and easy towing. Yery user friendly. It did everything asked of it without fuss. One day we covered 850ks from Newcastle to St George and finished the day feeling great. Not may vehicles you can do that in. I have nothing but praise for my Pajero. When towing you do things quietly and you dont get into trouble. The 3.0 L did it well.
