When using a repeater, you must transmitt on (1-8) and receive on (31-38). How are you meant to have a two way conversation if you and the other person are not constantly changing between 1-8 and 31-38. If you have one radio on 5 Duplex and another on 5 Duplex, can they communicate? How far do the radios have to be seperated before they can use the repeater without giving each other interference?
Please Help!

if you have selected duplex on a particular channel (say 8) your radio will automaticly transmit on ch 38 and then recieve on 8. If you are within the range of a ch 8 repeater it will pick up your transmission on 38 and simultaneously transmit (repeat) it on 8.
You do not have to switch between channels manually.
Stay off ch 5 (and 35) it is designated for emergencies only...
