Planning to camp along the Murray between Torrumbarry Weir and Koondrook on the Vic side on the Anzac weekend, and was wondering if anyone can fill me in on the condition of the river in that section and also whether Parks Vic has closed any areas off for revegetation.

I did the trip (by boat) between Torrumbarry Weir and Koondrook about four weeks ago.

The river was in pretty good condition - there was a bit of flow, no alge, and plenty of birdlife. You'll need to pick your spot. Parts of the river were only a metre deep, although other parts were 15 metres deep (usually on a corner).

There were plenty of camping spots on the Victorian side, although the river banks were pretty desolate. We didn't notice that any areas had been closed off.

These shots were taken in the Gunbower State Forest, at the 1580 marker.
