It was interesting to read the comment by Mike Carlton in yesterday's SMH about the scourge of 4 wheel drivers :"Like his fellow multi-media megastar, Harold Scruby of the mysterious Pedestrian Council, Markson will usually share his thoughts on anything from the opening of a packet of chips on up." I guess this puts Mr Scruby into perspective and underlines the reasoning behind former Transport Minister Costa's decision to ban Scruby from his office. Could I suggest that the only people who put any credence on Scruby's ramblings are the journalists who have his phone number on speed dial.

Wonderful thing about this country, Australia, it allows citizens to not only have opinions but also the opportunity to express them.
Yes you too have the right to an opinion and unless it's rude, insulting etc then with the permission of this forum's owner you to can express it. Surely yo must have better things to do with your time on such a special day. Obviously the same rules must also apply to 'Mr Scruby' - whoever or whatever he is.
What a wonderful country we live in. Happy Easter.

DIO,
DID YOU NOT GET ANY EGGS TODAY, or did you get up on the wrong side of the bed? Two posts, both negative posts, perfect score so far mate.

Shane.

DIO

Mr Subie wants ALL 4WD banned from cities

He wants ALL 4WD banned from attatching bull-bars

He wants ALL 4WD to pay an extra tax when driving in a city

He wants ALL 4WD drivers to pass a 4WD licence specially created for 4WD

But the funniest thing is he drives a 4WD and lives in the city, wot a tool.

Fair dinkum you guys! I think you should read DIO's comment again - he/she is being anything but negative! He/she is saying how good it is that we live in a country that (currently) tolerates people voicing different opinions - even if you don't agree with the opinions expressed - he/she is not necessarily agreeing with Scruby but simply defending Scruby's right to voice his opinions publicly. And that gives us confidence that if someone like Scruby can voice his opinions, we too can voice opinions that not everyone agrees with! Or would you prefer to live in a place like Iran where you can be shot or imprisoned for lobbying the government?!

I used to be a Mike Carlton fan when we lived in NSW and listened daily. Lost touch and changed listening habits when he went to UK Your post didn't say if Carlton was pro or agin 4WD ....but

I remember Carlton doing ads for Jeep on 2UE and him talking about his wish list and how many days away he had left sweating in anticipation for the delivery of his 5 litre ish black Jeep 4WD.
